This translates to an unwavering commitment to investing in modern, high-performing technology and machines, new clinics, high-calibre people, and research and development, all underpinned by our dedication to delivering excellence in patient outcomes.We have 7 Nuc Med / PET sites across our hospital clinic network (with more to come).Youll work across at least 2 sites, on a standard Monday Friday roster with no on-call work and no after-hours work. Shifts will start between 7am and 9am daily and youll receive your roster fortnightly in advance, so you can live well and work well!Reporting to the NM/PET Coordinator, you will be responsible for:Completing efficient, effective and safe Nuc Med and PET imagingDelivering high-quality clinical outcomes for your patients whilst extending them genuine compassion and carePreparing and administering (via confident cannulation) radiopharmaceuticals (Nuc Med / PET Med tracers) to patientsOperating nuclear medicine equipment, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT cameras to obtain high-quality diagnostic imagesInterpreting PET and Nuc Med images to independently assess the need to consult with radiologists and / or referring doctorsCollaborating with radiologists and referring doctors to review imaging results and ensure diagnostic goals are metAdministering lymphatic injections for breast and melanoma patientsAdhering to all Nuc Med and PET safety protocols including safely handling radioactive tracers, maintaining appropriate shielding and following contamination control proceduresVerifying patient information to correctly identify patients, prior to scanningConfirming the patient has adhered to preparation instructions before proceeding with their scanReviewing patient medical histories to cross-check information and notes and ensure patient safetyMonitoring patients during procedures for adverse reactions or complications and providing appropriate medical support as neededMaintaining detailed records of procedures, radiopharmaceutical use, and patient information in compliance with regulatory standards and PRC protocolsPerforming quality control procedures on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceutical doses to ensure safety and accuracyWho Were Looking ForWed love to bring you into the PRC team if youre:Someone who balances their technical expertise with a high EQ and well-developed interpersonal skillsInterested in developing multi-modality skills (CT) and applying that to imaging workKeen to work across both PET and Nuc Med sitesIdeally seeking extension to your core role, for example in cardiac stress testing or towards a coordinator positionComfortable working in small, high-functioning teams to deliver patient outcomesCommitted to participating in continuing education and training to stay current with technological advancements and best practices in nuclear medicineInterested in PET and Nuc Med research projectsAble to handle radioactive tracers in a safe way following legislation and protocolsWhat We OfferThis role is an exciting opportunity to kick-start or elevate your career in nuclear medicine.
