The Communication & Advocacy Manager will lead the development and execution of communication, advocacy, and policy-shaping strategies that advance the quality use of medicines, strengthen the companys reputation, and foster a sustainable policy environment. This role requires strict compliance with Australian legislation and the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.You will proactively represent the company by building and maintaining effective relationships with government stakeholders, policymakers, and the media, and by delivering compliant communication campaigns that support business objectives and public health outcomes. Additionally, you will drive effective internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged on company initiatives, policy developments, and compliance obligations, ensuring alignment and fostering a collaborative workplace culture. This role reports to the Head of Market Access and External Affairs.Main Responsibilities:Create and execute compliant communication plans that support the quality use of medicines and enhance the companys reputation among key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, government, and the media.Monitor, analyse, and interpret health policy and regulatory developments.Develop and implement advocacy strategies to shape policy in support of patient access, innovation, and business objectives, while ensuring all activities are ethical and transparent.Prepare policy submissions, briefing documents, and position statements for government and regulatory agencies.Build and maintain effective relationships with government bodies, policymakers, patient organisations (in collaberation with Medical Affairs), healthcare professionals, and other key external stakeholders.Represent the company in industry forums, policy consultations, and external meetings.Manage media relations, draft press releases, and coordinate public statements in line with company and regulatory requirements.Respond to media enquiries and proactively seek opportunities for positive media coverage, ensuring all communications are factual, balanced, and non-promotional.Drive internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged on company initiatives, policy developments, compliance obligations, and the importance of the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.Develop and distribute clear, timely information through internal channels, fostering a collaborative and compliant workplace culture.Manage and Monitor the Chiesi Australia social media channel and website.Experience:Relevant qualifications in communications, PR, journalism, campaigns, advocacy or a related field or experience in a similar roleat least, 5+ years of directly relevant work experience in a communications, media or advocacy-related role ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.demonstrated experience in producing successful digital content for different platforms including LinkedIn and Websites.experience of different communications tools and platforms similar to Canvademonstrated experience of engaging/ working with the mediademonstrated experience working cross functionally and project management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsChiesi Australia is a pharmaceutical company based in Melbourne Australia.
