As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, we play a leading role in reducing the impact of all cancers on all people.The Fundraising and Communications Division (FCD) is responsible for ensuring that Cancer Council maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from Victorians.This is achieved through best-practice high volume direct marketing approaches; exceptional relationship management of high value supporters including major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters; delivery of iconic fundraising events; and product sales and royalties through our retail arm.The Partnerships and Philanthropy Unit is responsible for developing and implementing an effective relationship management approach with high value supporters to deliver significant and sustainable income to support the work of Cancer Council Victoria working with major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters.About your opportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Partnerships and Philanthropy to lead the implementation of the philanthropy strategy, aimed at significantly growing big gift revenue from major donors, Trust and Foundations and Corporates. Reporting to the Head, Partnerships and Philanthropy, this role will:Lead the implementation of the new Partnerships and Philanthropy strategy to grow philanthropic incomeLead and manage staff, including monitoring progress against priorities, conducting performance reviews and recruitmentManage a portfolio of Cancer Council Victorias highest value supporters, with an emphasis on major donors, to foster meaningful relationships.Build and strengthen strategic relationships with leaders across Cancer Council Victoria to develop knowledge of the priority programs that require funding by the Partnerships and Philanthropy UnitEffectively represent Cancer Council at external meetings with supporters, charitable foundations, and sector events where appropriate.Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvementAll about youWe are looking for someone with:Relevant tertiary degree qualification in a related relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in business development or fundraisingDemonstrated experience securing major gifts (minimum six figure sums) and sustaining a portfolio of major gift relationshipsDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of philanthropic giving principles across different sectors, and current fundraising environment and trendsEffective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholdersDemonstrated experience in empowering staff to foster collaborative relationships while delivering operational prioritiesProven capacity to grow income sustainablySubstantial ability to foster a culture of growth, innovation and continuous improvement to drive results.What we can offer youBase salary of $110,000 to $123,000 p.a.
