We are an innovative, sustainable, and growing business with a skilled and diverse team, united by our passion to create the freshest, tastiest, nutrient-rich produce possible, with the least impact on the environment.Due to our consistent and forecast trajectory of sustainable commercial growth, we are appointing an experienced Finance & Commercial Manager to provide strategic and sound financial guidance; to lead us into the next phase of business expansion, this position will play a pivotal role in driving the financial and commercial performance of the organisation forward.Based in the coastal farming town of Bowen, North Queensland, boasting some of Queensland best beaches, we are perfectly positioned with direct access to the Whitsunday Islands and less than an hours drive to vibrant Airlie Beach and to the Whitsunday coast airport.The OpportunityAs the lead of the North Qld finance team, you will contribute to the achievement of adequate levels of integrity and accuracy of financial accounting records and internal controls and provide strategic leadership and direction for the provision of financial and business management services. You will apply your knowledge in the Australian Accounting Standards particularly in terms of the application of accounting concepts in financial statements and financial reporting.The Farm and packaging business is based in Bowen, North Queensland. Success in this role would see a regular attendance on-site, there is however flexibility to work remotely as well as at the related party, Kalfresh Groups Southeast Queensland office.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and monthly management reports.Management / cost accounting for the group including monitoring KPIs and management of costs in collaboration with operational managers to ensure the business achieves its strategic objectives.Prepare CAPEX and working capital budgets and provide financial insights for operational decisions.Preparation of financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management for both the farming business and the joint venture.Providing financial scenario analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.Ensure transparent reporting, cost-sharing, and alignment of strategic goals across the Joint Venture.Building relationships and collaborating with internal and joint venture partners (sales, finance, operations, management).Management of the reporting obligations to financiers and liaising with them regular to meet the needs of the group businesses.Provide high level advice in relation to the interpretation and application of legislation, regulations, standards, policies and guidelines relevant to financial and business performance responsibilities. This includes a working knowledge of Australian and international accounting standards.Development and implementation of financial management planning and information systems, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, KPIs, plans and goals.Manage a small finance/administration team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.About youTo be considered for this role, you will have:A minimum 7 years experience in the financial sector or similar positionBachelors degree in finance, Accounting or EconomicsProfessional qualification such as CA/CFA/CPA or similar will be consideredExtensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patternsProficient user of finance softwareAbility to work across diverse operational teams and environments, including field, packhouse, and boardroom settingsStrong interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsAble to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being usedA solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principlesWorking knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulationsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and hold a strong work ethicHow do your skills match this job?How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
