Civil / Structural Engineer - SubstationsCivil / Structural Engineer - SubstationsDirect message the job poster from ConnectYouMBA (Human Resources)- Recruitment Specialist - Substation Engineering & DesignOverviewWe are currently recruiting for a Civil / Structural Engineer focused on substations to be based in Sydney in a permanent role for our client who operate in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry.As a Civil / Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality civil / structural design solutions for substations within the power transmission and distribution industry. You will utilise your expertise to participate in design projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations while driving innovation and efficiency in engineering processes.Responsibilities:Develop and optimise foundation designs for major substation projects, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and regulations.Perform structural analysis and calculations for foundation systems, including pile foundations, spread footings, and mat foundations, utilising advanced engineering software.Conduct geotechnical assessments to inform foundation design decisions.Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure integration of foundation designs into overall substation projects.Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including technical specifications, design reports, and construction drawings.Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality control protocols.Participate in design reviews and audits to ensure engineering integrity and compliance.Required Experience:Experience in civil/structural engineering with a focus on foundation design for substations or similar infrastructure projects.Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver engineering projects in the power transmission sector.Proficiency in engineering software for structural analysis and design (such as SPACE GASS).Familiarity with Australian Standards relevant to structural and foundation engineering.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
