The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.This role is pivotal in driving initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy, delivering exceptional employee service, and collaborating with stakeholders across departments.Key Responsibilities:Manage the payroll function''s budget, resources, and vendor relationships, including payroll software providers and external auditors.Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall payroll strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and objectives.Lead strategic initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and automation.Initiate and lead projects to implement process improvements and system enhancements to support business growth and operational excellence.Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely administration of pay, remuneration, and benefits in accordance with legislation, industrial instruments, and internal procedures.Own payroll reconciliations and related month-end processes, producing required reports to ensure accurate recording and accrual of entitlements and benefits.Support Finance and HR with budgeting and forecasting payroll costs.Ensure all reporting required by legislation, industrial instruments, or procedures is provided accurately and on time, including payment summaries, payslips, and superannuation.Develop, implement, and maintain robust payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure data integrity, mitigate risks, and promote audit readiness.Monitor and mitigate payroll risks, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Operations.Cultivate and champion a culture of service excellence within the Payroll team, delivering responsive, accurate, professional, and empathetic support to employees and managers.Support the professional development and performance of direct reports through training, coaching, and succession planning.Key Qualifications, Skills and Competencies Required:Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.Minimum 10 years of payroll experience.Minimum 5 years in a payroll management function, with significant leadership experience overseeing a large and complex payroll function in Australia.Expert knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, compliance requirements, and industrial award/enterprise agreements.Advanced Excel skills and ability to design and analyse advanced reports.CHRIS21 systems knowledge highly desired.Exposure to Workday and UKG Kronos is an advantage.Aged Care experience is an advantage.Advanced interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels.Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team management abilities.Critical thinking and problem-solving capability.Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.If you are a dedicated and experienced Payroll Manager looking to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.
