SERMalso guides the coordination and delivery of whole of Governmentrecovery interventions across a disaster event. They support boththe immediate operational and the longer-term considerations andconsequences of the disaster event through recovery programplanning. SERM advises and supports the Premier through theEmergency Management Act 2004, supports the Chief Executive asChair of the State Emergency Management Committee (SEMC), supportsthe SEMC in achieving their strategic directions and legislatedrequirements, is the custodian of the State Emergency ManagementPlan, represents South Australia on national committees andoversees the SA Government protective security policy.Role HighlightsUnique opportunity to learn about recovery, security andemergency managementContribute to emergency management projects & policydevelopmentBe part of a dynamic, small teamRole DetailsThe Principal Policy Officer is responsible for the governance,administration and coordination of key emergency managementcommittees, including the State Emergency Management Committee andthe Emergency Management Committee of Cabinet. This includesproviding strategic policy and briefing support to relevantexecutives and relevant Ministers to support their attendance atstate and national emergency management bodies. The role liaisesand coordinates with stakeholders and partners across governmentand the broader emergency management sector to develop and providestrategic advice on complex emergency management policy issues andprojects.
