Full Engineering PhD Scholarship Opportunity in Hydrogen StorageFull Engineering PhD Scholarship Opportunity in Hydrogen StorageCome and join the team at the University of Sydney!Full engineering PhD scholarship opportunity in Hydrogen Storage.This project is part of the CRC-P16 Industry Project with Rux EnergyHydrogen is widely recognised as a clean energy vector essential for decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors. Currently the large-scale deployment of hydrogen remains constrained by the limitations of storage technologies, which rely on either high-pressure compression or cryogenic liquefactionboth of which are energy-intensive, costly, and pose significant safety risks. Rux Energy is addressing this challenge by commercialising a breakthrough hydrogen storage solution based on patented nanoporous materials. Ruxs technology is a novel cryocompressed composite hydrogen storage system, which is a combination of adsorbent and tank technologies.This project is a partnership between Rux Energy, USYD, and New Frontiers Technology (NFT) and is a multi-disciplinary effort between scientists and engineers. This topic will support the development of a H2 storage product from lab demonstrators to commercial reality. You will build a multidisciplinary set of skills which may include:Model-based systems engineering/architectingExperience with digital twin/computational modelingMulti-disciplinary collaboration between scientists and engineers in industry and academiaThis Topic is suited to candidates with background in manufacturing, mechanical, aerospace, materials, industrial or structural engineering, or related disciplines. Experience with systems engineering and/or a strong desire to learn is highly recommended.We offer immersive support from academic supervisors and industry leaders.
