If this sounds like you, we have an exciting opportunity for you!This exciting opportunity comes in the form of our newly developed Resource Data Scientist role, a role which has been designed to develop and maintain high quality standards for forest resource data management.Here''s what you need to thrive in this role:Demonstrated knowledge in the field of statistics including regression analysis and sampling methods;Demonstrated knowledge in machine learning including supervised and unsupervised learning (e.g. linear regression, decision trees, clustering), model evaluation and model tuning;Demonstrated knowledge in data wrangling and data cleaning including handling missing data, normalising, formatting and combining datasets;Knowledge and experience with data visualization tools and an understanding of best practice for presenting data through graphs, dashboards and reports;Technical skills with programming and database languages including Python, R, and SQL;Experience with management of large datasets in a cloud environment such as MS Azure;Experience handling geospatial data in the ESRIGIS suiteInterest in remote sensing data including satellite imagery and airborne LiDAR ; andWorking rights in Australia or willingness to obtain.A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Forestry, Environmental Science, Geospatial Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline;Unrestricted C class drivers licence; andAt least three years relevant work experience in a data science, statistics, forest resource planning, biometrician, geospatial or similar field.Closing date: Monday 14 July 2025Location: North Lakes QLD preferred, but negotiable - check out our various office locations .We are proud to be recognised as an Inclusive Employer by the Diversity Council Australia and are a workplace where everyone is treated fairly and with respect.
