Add expected salary to your profile for insightsAbout the RoleBusiness Law WA (BLWA) are looking for a senior lawyer to join our employment law team. In this role, you will lead the Workplace Relations legal team to ensure the development and delivery of workplace relations legal services, and that the business unit is aligned with the needs of members and the WA business community. You will ensure that a high level of customer service, member experience and other related activities which ensure the continued retention and acquisition of clients and members.This role is ideal for an established leader looking for a change from a traditional law firm to a value-based organisation, or for an experienced senior lawyer looking to take the next step in their career.This is afull-time, permanentposition that will be based in the Perth CBD office.Key responsibilities include:Hold the position of Legal Director for BLWA, responsible for compliance with legal professional requirements and supervision of legal practitioner work.Identify and drive new commercial opportunities as well as actively participate in business development to ensure the team achieves financial targetsActive business development activities, including attending networking events and preparation of high-quality presentations relevant to existing and prospective clients.Participate in the development and implementation of effective strategic and risk management plans.Collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including marketing and other legal and consulting teams to maximise commercial opportunities.Support, coach and mentor junior team members in technicalmatters while fostering a supportive and respectful team environment.Implementation of strategies to improve staff engagement levels within the legal team.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Bachelor of Law degree and an unrestricted, current practicing certificateCompletion of approved legal practice management certificate (desirable)Demonstrated leadership and management experience including the ability to provide mentoring and leadership across a technical team.Demonstrated technical experience across the fields of Workplace Relations law.Strong commercial acumen, understanding of business development strategies and demonstrated experience in achieving team financial targets.Proven ability to form strong networks at all levels and build a repeat client base.A National Police Clearance and an unrestricted, valid Drivers LicenseAbout CCIWABLWA is an incorporated legal practice, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCIWA), an independent, Member-based organisation that has been committed to advancing trade and commerce in WA for more than 130 years.Our vision is for WA to be the best place to live and do business.
