Students benefit from diverse opportunities and a supportive environment that encourages engagement, achievement, and personal growth.Your OpportunityAs the Head of Department - Student Support, you will:Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiativesParticipate in delivering the vision of Early Childhood and State Schools DivisionDevelop the quality of teaching and learningNurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.DesirablesDesirable Skills We Are Looking For AreStrong communication skills to effectively lead diverse teams and engage with students, staff, and familiesProven experience in leading teams and using data to inform targeted interventions and support strategies that improve student wellbeing and outcomesAbility to work collaboratively within a school context to support whole-school prioritiesExperience with Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) frameworks is highly desirable to support a consistent, evidence-based approach to behaviour and culture across the schoolYour ResponsibilitiesAs the Head of Department - Student Support, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Lead the Tier 2 support services team, including Youth Support Coordinators and Mori and Pacific Islander Liaison Officers, to deliver targeted interventions and case management for students requiring additional supportProvide whole-school leadership of the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to student behaviour and wellbeingDrive a strong and inclusive house culture that promotes student engagement, a sense of belonging, and school pride across all year levelsPlease refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
