Alternatively, you can email your CV to Laura.keegan@hays.com.au or call her on (02) 8062 6176 for a confidential discussion.About The RoleAs part of a small legal team, the Legal Counsel will support organisational activities to lift capability and drive growth whilst delivering strong levels of governance and risk oversight in a highly dynamic environment. This role has a significant emphasis on privacy and requests for information.You will give support to the Executive Director, Governance, Legal and Risk to provide high quality, practical legal advice across a varied range of business and service delivery activities. The role also offers the opportunity for significant involvement in RFI (request for information) management and privacy matters.Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited ToAssist in providing practical legal support and advice to the business on a broad range of general commercial law matters in addition to property, employment, marketing and fundraising, and privacy matters;Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and documents, and managing contract management processes;Assist the Privacy Officer to effectively manage requests for information (RFI) from external parties.Assisting with establishing and implementing systems and processes, including legal template development and the delivery of training to the business on key legal issues.Assist in maintaining knowledge management databases where legal advice is storedEnsuring compliance with corporate governance standards and practicesAssist with administrative and legal operations functions such as setting up matter files and contract management processesAssist with the administration and maintenance the LLA Group general insurance renewal program and management of insurance claimsWhat You''ll Need To SucceedYou will be admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW with a current Australian Practising Certificate, with a minimum of 3 years post admission experience in general commercial law, gained in private practice or in-house. Candidates must have experience in privacy law.You will also possess strong legal drafting and proof-reading skills with practical experience and a high degree of accuracy, initiative and judgment when reviewing corporate documents. Additionally, you will have excellent organisational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills, with a can-do attitude an ability to meet deadlines and prioritise competing stakeholder needs.The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to translate complex legal terminology into clear, straightforward language that non-legal colleagues can easily understand.What You''ll Get In ReturnThis is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer eager to expand their skills and experience in an engaging , fast paced in-house environment.
