Volunteers are integral to the operation and preservation of our heritage-listed places. Many roles are available, including gardeners, guides, collection care, administrative support, and retail volunteers.This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to develop new skills, meet people, and be involved in an important cause. Volunteering is great for those looking to gain experience in their career and also suits those looking for a change in lifestyle. With flexible roles that can work around your availability, volunteers can work a few hours a week or more, depending on their circumstances.Once a volunteer completes 96 hours of work across a 12-month period, they will receive a volunteer membership to the National Trust. Members can visit over 100 National Trust places across Australia for free. Volunteers can also be recognized for outstanding service in the National Trust Honours awards program.Share your love for education, history, art, and culture by becoming a tour guide at Retford Park or Harpers Mansion. Provide engaging insights into the past and foster a sense of appreciation for shared heritage. Training is provided for those eager to delve into the fascinating stories behind these very special places.Gardeners can use their green thumb to delve into the beauty of nature and help maintain and enhance the historic gardens at our special places.
