We are a dedicated group of allied health and behaviour support professionals driven by making a lasting impact.About the RoleWe are looking for Behaviour Support Practitioners who have been assessed as Core, Proficient or Advanced level to join our Therapy and Behaviour Support Team in Central Sydney, office located in Rhodes. We have roles available supporting children and young people living in the following locations:Burwood, Strathfield, Canterbury Bankstown and Cumberland LGAsSouthern Sydney and the Sutherland Shire areasAt Lifestart, we provide Positive Behaviour Support using a capacity-building model. Our practitioners work alongside children and young people with disability, their families, and support networks across all the environments they access including homes, early childhood settings, schools and communities to make meaningful and lasting change.This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time opportunities available (minimum 3 days per week). Lifestart operates Monday to Friday, and it is highly desirable if you are available to work until 6pm.Responsibilities:Engage in collaborative goal setting with families and complete Functional Behaviour Assessments to identify areas of need and support the development of practical evidence-based support strategies.Develop person centred Behaviour Support Plans that uphold the rights of people with disability, improve quality of life and reduce the use of restrictive practices.Work with a varied caseload alongside a team of experienced allied health professionals including speech pathologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.Build the capacity and confidence of families, teachers and support workers to implement positive and proactive strategies and skill building programs through direct coaching and mentoring support.Continue to develop your expertise through high levels of supervision and support to progress through the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework practitioner levels.About You - Skills and ExperienceNDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner at a Core, Proficient or Advanced level.Professional experience, or demonstrated commitment to working with children and young peopleExperience and/or interest in using person and family centred, strength-based approachesHighly organised, and able to work with technology in a changing environmentUnderstanding of inclusion, cultural sensitivities and the needs of diverse communitiesAlign with Lifestarts values and believe you would be a great fitValid Working with Childrens Check (WWCC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)Fully vaccinated for the Covid-19 Virus (3 doses) or accepted medical exemption certificateCurrent drivers licence and use of own carWhy Join Lifestart?YOUR FUTURE, EMPOWERED!Working at Lifestart means working for an organisation that has grown from humble beginnings to become one of Australias leading disability service providers without compromising the values at its heart.Lifestart was founded in 1996 by a group of eight families who believed kids with disability deserved better support.
