Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector. About the role Market Management is one of the divisions responsible for delivering core business functions at AEMO. It has primary responsibility for the on-going stakeholder monitoring, enhancement and development of wholesale markets for Gas and Electricity. The NEM Metering team is responsible for facilitating the operation of the NEM retail market and providing assurance for the accuracy of metering data used in the settlement of the NEM wholesale energy market. As a self starter you will lead the metering installation registration of transmission connections, generation and bidirectional connection points. You will ensure the operation of the metering and metrology functions within the National Electricity Market (NEM) are effective, efficient and compliant with industry rules and procedures. Managing key stakeholder relationships across the energy industry, you will provide leadership and subject matter expertise to perform business operations and continuously improve and effect change to the National Electricity Rules (NER) and market procedures. What you will be doing Lead the metering installation registration of transmission connections and generation / bidirectional connection points. Support and assess the registration process of market participants and their input into market systems. Undertake the performance monitoring of participants and actively facilitate the development of improved benchmarking for performance within the NEM. Monitoring and management of metering installation details that may have an impact on the operation of the National Electricity Market. Contribute to development of the National Electricity Market (NEM) metrological control framework required to support wholesale trading and retail competition, from definition of concept to technology and final detail design application. Develop and maintain strong rapport with both internal and external stakeholders. What you will bring to the role Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (Bachelor of Electrical Engineering etc) or equivalent industry experience. Significant experience in the energy sector, relating to power systems, electricity metering, metering operations and or electricity network connections. Knowledge of the business and commercial processes necessary for a deregulated electricity market. Stakeholder, account or client relationship management experience. Able to communicate across all levels of the organisation, verbally and in writing in a clear and professional manner. Relationship Management skills with the ability to develop meaningful business partnerships. Ability to interpret technical information, instructions, specifications and technical drawing. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to influence outcomes through colleagues and stakeholders. Demonstrated planning ability to manage your own workload.
