A rare opportunity has come up for a Production Manager at our Bulwer Island site in Pinkenba due to an internal promotion. This is a people leadership position with hands-on responsibilities in coordinating the direction, alignment and performance of the Production team and Bagging Shed Operations, to meet quality, volume and production targets. Bulwer Islands assets compromise of cementitious mills, bagging and shipping operations. With a focus on customer satisfaction and site safety, you will be a proactive multi-tasker with the ability to shift from the strategic to the day-to-day operational functions. You will draw on your experience and in-depth knowledge of the production and manufacturing process to take a business improvement approach to your work, continually seeking opportunities for gains and efficiency. As with most leadership positions, your soft skills will be critical as you coach and mentor your teams for success, as will your demonstrated resilience, ability to prioritise, and strong attention to detail. Your Opportunity Demonstrate strong safety leadership and challenge non-compliance. Plan and coordinate resources to identify and control risks and hazards and ensure good housekeeping and environmental consideration is maintained Lead a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve plant, process and people performance. Lead the implementation of improvement ideas and create a learning environment within the production department and cross functional teams. Assist in the development of strategic plans for the site, understanding commercial drivers and ensuring a mechanism is in place to monitor and manage the value proposition in the short and long term Manage the production planning, bagging process and wharf (receival of raw material, maintaining stocks, conducting regular stock surveys, production of finished product and despatch of finished product) Ensure team is held accountable to delivery of results and quality control parameters Provide ongoing coaching and performance reviews, ensuring team members understand their specific accountabilities and are provided feedback and support as required Budgeting and cost management Be responsible for the Wharf scheduling Provide monthly reporting Administrative tasks such as timesheets and raising purchase orders What Youll Bring You have strong people leadership capability, ideally gained in a materials processing environment You are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills You are agile and can adapt fast to changing environments in the best interest of people and the business Ideally you have an engineering or trade qualifications You have previous experience in stock management You are good with numbers and would be confident managing budget/costs You have tech-savvy with good computer skills (SAP, Excel) and report writing capability You live and demonstrate a commitment to safety You can work under pressure and the competing demands of a large team You have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload Why Join Cement Australia?
