This four-year apprenticeship offers hands-on experience while you work towards completing the UEE32220 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Ideal for mechanically inclined individuals, this role concentrates on the operational and mechanical functions of industrial refrigeration systems, rather than electrical work. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical skills, earn a nationally recognised qualification, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in industrial refrigeration. This role is primarily site-based and may occasionally require overnight stays for projects located outside the Brisbane region. As part of your development, youll work under the mentorship of experienced industry professionals while engaging in a blend of hands-on work and theoretical training throughout the greater Brisbane area. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Assisting technicians in servicing and maintaining large industrial refrigeration units Installing pipework Hanging evaporators Mounting refrigeration units on-site Learning to interpret technical drawings and plans Benefits Full-time 4-year contract including paid annual and personal leave Paid weekly Access to 1:1 mentoring Opportunity to access Govt subsidy payments of up to a total of $5000 for the first 2 years of your apprenticeship paid in 6 month instalments About You You should have a strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and the confidence to ask questions. A genuine interest in how things work mechanically is essential. If you enjoy working with mechanical systems, repairing or maintaining vehicles, or have experience with hand and power tools, youll be well suited to this role. Completion of a Certificate II in Engineering would be highly regarded, as this position is heavily focused on mechanical work. An interest in learning about electrical systems is also important, as the trade qualification includes electrical components. To be considered for this role, you will also need to: Hold a current drivers licence Have a Construction White Card (or be willing to obtain one) Forklift ticket (highly regarded) Have a current LVR/CPR certificate (or be willing to complete the training, which MIGAS will organise upon commencement) Be vaccinated for Q Fever or willing to undergo vaccination Demonstrate strong safety awareness and understanding Be well presented with excellent communication skills Possess strong listening skills and the ability to follow instructions Be able to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol screening, and a Police Check Apply Now Kick off your career with us!
