Join our energetic and hard-working operations team as a full-time General Hand, working in Burials at Springvale Botanical Cemetery. Reporting to the Operations Leader, this position will play an integral role in the burial''s operations. You''ll be following work schedules, occupational health and safety legislation, codes of practices and industry standards. It''s a career beyond expectations! Key Responsibilities Assist, perform and support the gravedigging operations and preparation of burial sites. Prepare areas for excavation, including marking out and measuring areas Excavate a grave to the specifications provided Monitor excavation and install/remove shoring timbers as required Hand digging of graves when required Assist in lifting ledgers on and off monumental graves Setting up of graves so a burial service can take place Packing up and backfilling of graves once a burial service has taken place Working always in accordance with work schedules, occupational health and safety legislation, codes of practices and industry standards.
