Your Team The Managed Accounts team is part of CFSs Superannuation and Investment business unit which is accountable for both First Choice and Edge Managed Account product range. This role and the team play an important part in the success of CFSs strategic priorities. Your Responsibilities As the Senior Portfolio Construction Specialist of Managed Accounts, this role will ensure the range of portfolios, made available to our clients, meet the needs of our clients and are managed to a high a standard. Customers are able to invest in through a managed account meet the high standards that clients expect, and that there is a range of portfolios to meet the needs of clients using the CFS First Choice and Edge range of platforms. Conduct initial and ongoing due diligence on investment managers within the managed accounts program. Assess investment philosophy, process, risk controls, and operational infrastructure. Evaluate manager alignment with client mandates, platform requirements, and regulatory standards. Monitor performance, risk metrics, and compliance of managed account portfolios. Analyse portfolio construction, asset allocation, and deviation from model portfolios. Identify underperformance or style drift and escalate concerns to governance committees. Prepare detailed governance reports for internal investment committees and external stakeholders. Ensure portfolios meet fiduciary, legal, and regulatory obligations (e.g., RG 779, ASIC guidelines). Maintain robust documentation of investment decisions, reviews, and manager interactions. Collaborate with product, compliance, legal, and platform operations teams. Engage with external investment managers, research houses, and platform providers. Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums. Your Capability and Experience Proven experience in investment analysis and portfolio construction. Strong background in managed accounts, SMA/IMA structures, and platform governance. Strong understanding of portfolio theory, risk management, and investment governance. Advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Proficiency in investment tools such as Morningstar Direct, IRESS/IOS, Bloomberg. Familiarity with APRA, ASIC, and AFSL regulatory frameworks. Sound communication and stakeholder management skills.
