Surry Hills Pty Ltdrestaurant, based in Broadway, NSW is an authentic Greek restaurant, and they have a vacancy for a skilled CHEF who can uplifts the dining experience for customers. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality, and perseverance to thrive in this role. To be considered for this role you must have: AQF Associate certificate III, Diploma/Advance Diploma, or higher-level qualification. At least two years of relevant experience in industry in similar position. You must be Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or have proper working rights in Australia. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead, motivate and coach the kitchen and hospitality team. Ensuring high levels of safety and professionalism in the execution of kitchen based culinary standards. Manage the cost of goods, labour and expense targets within agreed parameters as required. Report monthly to the procurement team on activities relating to the efficient management of stock, inventory, purchasing and suppliers. Adheres to all Health values, policies, and procedures as well as legislation affecting food hygiene and cleanliness standards. Take responsibility for delivering the highest measures of food production and presentation to customers including managing the live cooking stations. Suggest innovation and commercially viable ideas to improve food quality and introduce new seasonal dishes. Check freshness of food and ingredients. Plan menus, develop recipes, ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals, and determine how to present the food. Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality. Complies with obligations under Work Health and Safety Act 2011, NSW. Ensures incidences are reported accurately and in a timely manner. Operate with limited guidance and make a significant contribution to the development of strategy as well as its implementation. Maintain good customer relations. Address service concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Seeks out guidance and support from appropriate individuals/groups as required. Performs other duties as directed by the departmental manager. Prepare the food as per customers health requirement like vegan or gluten free etc. Key Behaviours: At least 2-3 years of work experience with various food recipes plating styles ambience and presentation. Substantial background in working and preparing delicious food as per business menu. Familiar with different culinary cooking methods products and techniques. Organised planner of menu development focused on different food items. Knowledge of all continental spices and cooking tools. Comfortable adjusting food to taste, diet etc. Thrives under pressure in a high-volume food environment. High standard of personal hygiene.
