Job Description Location: Sydney CBD Salary Package: $230k Package STI LTI Role highlights: Lead the group accounting function and act as the key financial governance lead across the organisation. Partner closely with the CFO on strategy, transactions and transformation. Role Overview Due to a significant growth agenda a rare opportunity now exists for a high-calibre Group Financial Controller to lead the group finance team within an ASX listed market leader. The business operates within the financial services space and has a national footprint and a focus on long-term value. They operate with integrity, transparency and a commitment to excellence. The role will be dynamic and varied including operational and commercial business support to internal stakeholders and the role is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced individual who brings proven depth in leading ASX level governance, controls and reporting in large enterprises as well as playing a key role in M&A Activities. The Group Financial Controller needs to be career minded and a strong leader and have a strong desire for future progression into a CFO position for an ASX listed business. Responsibilities Reporting directly to the CFO, this Group Financial Controller will have overall responsibility for the corporate accounting which is the centre of excellence for group internal and external financial reporting: Group reporting, ASX financial reporting and annual group board reporting Lead M&A integration related activities for a high volume of acquisitions Liaise with corporate affairs around preparation of ASX lodgements. Prepare/ review audit committee reports, managing the external audit relationship Maintain a technical accounting centre of excellence, filtering this out to commercial and divisional finance functions Oversee the preparation of balance sheet and cashflow reporting for the group Contribute to the development of financial systems and controls. Lead, mentor and develop a high performing team that operates with collaboration and excellence Additionally, you will partner with CFO to develop the groups overall financial strategy. This will include risk management, commercial analysis, due diligence, and providing insights into financial exposures and capital transactions across the group. Candidate Profile You are CA or CPA qualified with deep experience across ASX/Globally listed companies. You are either ready to step into your first Group Controller position or are already well established as a Group Controller and are seeking to role where you can make a greater impact. Most of your career has seen you deliver success in medium to large sized organisations. You will have proven background in managing complex teams and have demonstrated the leadership in increasing the teams capabilities over time. From a technical standpoint, you have exposure to writing high quality board reports and have strong corporate/ financial control experience within an ASX environment. Finally, you will be a commercially astute and able to build strong relationships throughout the organisation. You will partner with various parts of the business including divisional CFOs and CEOs right through to the group executive team. In return you will be joining an ASX listed business with fantastic exposure to the senior executive team. This position can progress to multiple roles within the organisation and is a fantastic stepping stone for progression towards an ASX CFO.
