What Youll Do Oncology Pharmacists are integral to cancer treatment, contributing to complex treatment plans and directly affecting treatment outcomes. Unlike community pharmacy, where the focus is often on volume and retail, Oncology Pharmacy offers a highly technical, clinically rich environment where precision, collaboration, and continuous learning are part of everyday practice. Here, youll work closely with Oncologists, Nurses, and Technicians, manage specialised medications, and play a key role in patient care from diagnosis through to treatment and recovery. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and organise the supply of cancer therapy for hospital inpatients and day oncology unit patients Perform medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products Participate in clinical screening of cancer therapy orders Educate and counsel staff, patients and allied health professionals What Youll Bring Were looking for a Pharmacist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment and brings a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a patient-centred mindset. In this specialised setting, high-pressure situations are not uncommon, thus strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively are essential. You dont need prior Hospital or Oncology experience to succeed in this role. If youre a Community Pharmacist with a solid foundation in pharmacy practice, a desire to expand your clinical knowledge, and a passion for delivering high-quality care the Slade Pharmacy Northside team will support you every step of the way. Essential Requirements Australian working rights and ability to commit to full-time employment for the duration of the contract.
