As a chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious meals with the utmost attention to quality and presentation. We are looking for someone who is creative, passionate and dedicated to their role. Key responsibilities. Menu Development: In collaboration with the owner, design and periodically revise seasonal menus while implementing portion control and conducting detailed food costing analysis to ensure profitability without compromising quality. Culinary Execution : Prepare menu items with precision and efficiency, guaranteeing that all meals meet the high standards of taste and visual appeal expected by our customers. Quality Assurance: Ensure every dish served is of the highest quality, adhering to Beyond The Brews reputation for culinary excellence with a keen focus on presentation and flavour. Kitchen Management: Maintain an immaculate and orderly kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and fostering an environment of cleanliness and organisation. Inventory Control: Manage kitchen inventory effectively, overseeing the supply chain from ordering ingredients to stock rotation, to prevent shortages and minimise waste. Innovation and Collaboration: Work in partnership with the caf team to innovate and introduce new menu items, keeping the offerings fresh and exciting for our patrons. Continuous Improvement: Persistently refine cooking techniques and recipes, aiming to elevate the customer dining experience through exceptional food quality. Staff Development: Mentor and train new kitchen staff, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel. Offer ongoing support and leadership to existing team members, ensuring their growth and the cohesive operation of the kitchen. Position Requirements: Cert IV or equivalent in Commercial Cookery or equivalent. Proven experience in kitchen management, menu creation, and team leadership. At least 2 years of experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen environment. Strong understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen safety, and sanitation standards. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
