We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance & Reporting Officer to join our national support team, playing a key role in strengthening our safeguarding and compliance practices across our network of 110 early learning centres throughout Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team undergoing growth and renewal under the leadership of a new Chief Safeguarding and Pedagogy Officer. You will report directly to the Senior Manager Safeguarding & Compliance, contributing to the rebuilding of a high-performing, purpose-led compliance function that supports our services to deliver safe, high-quality early learning. About the Role As Compliance & Reporting Officer, your role will be centred on supporting our services by: Assisting with the identification, documentation, and preliminary reporting of reportable conduct and serious incidents in alignment with legislative and internal policy requirements. Ensuring timely and accurate data collection and incident documentation for review and submission to external regulatory bodies. Collaborating with Centre Managers and internal teams to gather supporting information and provide practical compliance guidance. Supporting services in interpreting and implementing safeguarding and compliance expectations with clarity and confidence. Contributing to compliance monitoring and performance reporting across the service network. Assisting in the maintenance of food safety compliance and contributing to policy updates as legislation evolves. Apply a risk-based approach to incident management including using your sector experience to guide services to mitigate risk. Your Contribution to the Team You will be part of a rebuilding phase for our national safeguarding and compliance function working collaboratively within a committed, forward-thinking team that values transparency, service excellence, and a deep commitment to child protection. As we reset and refine our approach under new leadership, this is a unique opportunity to shape how compliance is delivered and supported across a large, diverse service network. Essential Skills & Qualifications A degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related discipline. Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management (or willingness to obtain) is desirable. Solid understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and relevant state-based regulatory requirements. Proven experience in compliance or quality assurance within the early childhood or education sector. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills. Ability to support services with confidence, clarity, and a practical approach to regulatory obligations. Demonstrated experience in applying a risk-based approach to assess and mitigate risk. Additional Requirements National Police Check Working with Children Check (as relevant by jurisdiction) Current Drivers Licence Valid Australian work rights (minimum two years) Willingness to travel to services as needed Completion of a pre-employment health questionnaire Why Join Busy Bees?
