1x Continuing and 1x Fixed Term opportunity available Fantastic opportunity for a Committee Officer at the University of Sydneys Academic Promotions Unit Base Salary $99,455 17% superannuation About the opportunity The University of Sydney is looking for a Committee Officer to join the Academic Promotions Unit. This unit is responsible for the Universities annual academic promotions process. The Committee Officers role includes providing administrative support for Faculty committees and, where required, committees of the Office of the Provost. This role requires strong administrative and organisational skills to coordinate and undertake a range of operational activities on an ongoing basis. This includes providing general advice and guidance on policy, compliance, sourcing committee members, scheduling meetings, preparing documents, minute taking and writing of reports, maintaining records, responding to queries, exploring matters, and sourcing solutions. Your key responsibilities will be to: prepares, schedules and supports committee meetings including but not limited to preparation of agendas, coordination of papers, room bookings, catering and taking, preparation and distribution of minutes builds and maintains a general knowledge of services offered to committees and staff to inform minute taking and provision of support to committees takes and delivers prompt and accurate minutes to committee chairs and members, including action items, and monitors progress against these actions compiles and delivers complex reports, including some analysis, drawing data from a variety of sources within and outside of the department explores administrative matters and prepares advice, recommendations and solutions related to academic promotion ensuring relevant initiation and/or follow-up of necessary action under broad direction from the Academic Promotions Manager manages documentation, filing and records. Keeping process in line with University Policy performs work activities relevant to the roles key accountabilities as approved by the Manager and commensurate to the roles classification level About you: prior experience within a similar role ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work has excellent written and verbal communications skills has stakeholder management skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders of all levels and backgrounds strong problem-solving skills has demonstrated time management skills, able to prioritise work to adhere to strict timelines in a high-volume environment ability to multitask and meet competing deadlines experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office applications Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
