Job Description: A hairdresser provides various hairdressing services to clients based on their needs, specifications, and preferences. The Tasks for the position include: Consult with clients to assess hair condition, style preferences, and recommend suitable cuts, colours, or treatments. Perform precision cutting, trimming, tapering, texturising, and styling using scissors, clippers, and razors. Provide barbering services including beard and moustache trimming, face shaves, and grooming treatments. Apply hair colouring, bleaching, foiling, and other chemical treatments safely and professionally. Style hair using modern and traditional techniques such as blow-drying, ironing, curling, braiding, and applying products. Advise clients on post-care maintenance, grooming routines, and recommended products. Maintain hygiene standards by cleaning and sterilising tools and work areas according to QLD health regulations. Handle appointment scheduling, manage client records, and assist with payments using the salons POS system. Stay updated with current industry trends, techniques, and grooming standards. Skill Requirements: Holds a Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent qualification At least 1 year of professional experience as a Hairdresser or similar role Familiarity with all professional hairdressing and barbering equipment, including scissors, clippers and razors. Good organizational skills for high demand of diversity of duties and staff matters Strong communication, time and resource management, and planning skills. Be pleasant, polite manner for dealing with public and staff Be professional, responsible and able to work with a team of employees under constant work pressure Ability to maintain employees relations leading by example and demonstrated willingness to work in a team environment Basic math and computer skills.
