This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a Chief Scientist Immunopathology & Infectious Immunoassay role, where youll lead high-performing teams, oversee advanced diagnostic services, and help shape the future of laboratory operations within a major public healthcare provider in Canberra. This 24/7 laboratory service operates across multiple hospital sites and community collection centres, supporting both inpatient and outpatient care. The role offers a rare chance to blend scientific leadership, innovation, and public health impact in a dynamic and collaborative environment. RESPONSIBILITIES COULD INCLUDE: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Immunopathology & Infectious Immunoassay laboratory. Lead a team of professionals across multiple sites, ensuring effective workforce planning, rostering, and human resources management. Coordinate and deliver training and professional development across classifications. Spearhead the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and testing methods in consultation with clinical and operational leadership. Maintain and improve laboratory quality systems to meet NATA and NSQHS accreditation standards. Contribute to operational strategy, safety, service delivery, and performance management. Represent ACT Pathology on internal and external committees as needed. MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field. Minimum 3 years experience in a senior diagnostic laboratory role.
