The NDIS Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia. Are you the ideal candidate? Our day-to-day work has a direct and immediate impact on the lives of people with disability, which makes it incredibly meaningful, rewarding and fulfilling. Our Branch is at the forefront of providing critical support to the Commission to facilitate the transformation of the Commission to becoming a highly effective and contemporary regulator. Accordingly, our lawyers work on human rights focused matters which are novel and raise interesting legal issues, and directly contribute to the transformation of the Commission and lives of people with disability. We are looking for Lawyers with experience in or a passion for human rights, and experience in delivering legal services in one or more of the following areas to add to our team: compliance and enforcement law legislation development and legal policy. Key Duties Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: providing legal advice on a broad range of matters relevant to the Commission, including the interpretation and application of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act) and associated rules and guidelines provide pragmatic and high quality advice on use of regulatory powers and administrative decision making researching and analysing legal issues relevant to the Commission; contributing to the development and implementation of the Commissions internal policies and procedures; provide legal training across the Commission contributing to the development of legislation/rules reform supporting the reviews of the NDIS Act and subordinate legislation relevant to the Commissions operations.
