The role The Test Lead role will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of new and existing applications, products and services. The Test Lead will oversee the entire testing lifecycle, from strategic planning and design to meticulous execution and comprehensive reporting. This encompasses a wide range of testing types, including system, integration, regression, user acceptance, performance, security, and production verification testing. The Test Lead will play a pivotal role in risk management, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues that could impact the quality of the application, product or service. This role requires strong collaboration with various stakeholders, including development teams, product owners, business analysts, subject matter experts, and automation analysts. The Test Lead will also provide mentorship and guidance to a team of testers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the testing community of practice. Position accountabilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and manage the overall testing strategy and planning across all phases of testing, including ST/SIT, Regression, UAT, and PVT. Lead walkthroughs with stakeholders on the overall testing approach for initiatives. Advocate for quality and continuous improvements across testing and delivery. Be a leader in the application of advanced testing techniques (risk-based testing, BDD, TDD, 3 amigos) to enhance quality. Team Management & Development: Act as a role model by demonstrating company values and influencing their application within the team. Provide guidance and support to team members on test coverage, risks, and defect management. Lead and take ownership of building, defining, and maintaining regression suites in collaboration with Test Analysts and Business SMEs. Pair with Automation Analysts to support the automation of regression suites. Support the onboarding of new team members and facilitate skills development for Test Analysts. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Actively participate and represent testing requirements in all Flow Delivery workshops (concept, planning, estimation). Collaborate with Test Analysts, Developers, SMs, POs, BAs, and Business SMEs from concept to delivery. Collaborate with the E2E team to define and break down Acceptance Criteria, produce test estimates, assumptions, dependencies, and risks. Work closely with Developers and Automation Analysts to identify automation opportunities. Provide transparent communication to stakeholders around all things testing. Testing Execution & Reporting: Plan and design test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage, considering positive, negative, and regression impacts. Lead team is executing tests using various techniques, identifying, raising, and retesting defects. Deliver comprehensive test reports, including Test Progress reports, Test Summary reports, and Defect reports. Adhere to the Defect Management Process. Provide pre-live and production deployment testing support. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the Community of Practice, sharing knowledge and best practices. Support the Test Manager in coordinating and facilitating test planning across multiple teams. Understand and apply functional and non-functional quality attributes. Participate in root cause analysis to identify and address underlying issues. What experience youll bring Essential: ISTQB Certified Experience: Min 3 years experience as a Test Lead Demonstrated experience in supporting a team of Test Analyst Demonstrated experience in creating test strategies, plans, test traceability matrix, test reports Experience in educating peers and stakeholders in different types of testing Knowledge, SKills, & Abilities: Understanding of software development methodologies including AGILE/Scrum Continuous Delivery including agile testing. Demonstrated use of testing techniques such as Risk Based testing, BDD, TDD Understanding of testing pyramid Demonstrated high level of knowledge of test practices, tools and techniques Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including with technical staff, end-users and management. Demonstrated skills to coach, mentor, Test Analyst to uplift their capabilities. Demonstrated skill in developing clear objectives and establishing work priorities and time frames. Demonstrated sound skills in problem solving, time and resource management, and have the ability to work independently and with limited supervision. Pragmatic and resilient to change.
