Youth Worker - Level 5 - Hemmant Flexible School Fixed term, Full time - commencing as soon as can be negotiated End date: 19 September 2025 Youth Worker (School Officer Level 5) ABOUT THE ORGANISATION: Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd educates over 2,200 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and serves young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. We enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, in which the principles of operation (Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal) are embedded. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Youth Worker reports to the Area Principal or delegate. The Youth Worker supports and leads: Effective learning and teaching programs for young people in both middle and senior phases of secondary education. Physical health and emotional wellbeing of the young people. Development and implementation of the schools strategic and operational plans regarding the function of your role as youth worker. Maintenance of a supportive and inclusive school environment. Relationships with the school, staff, students and their families, industry, and community organisations in relation to planning, actions and achieving outcomes. ABOUT YOU: Essential A Working with Children Clearance Notice Current drivers licence (essential) or Light Rigid license (highly desirable) Previous experience in the youth sector with knowledge and understanding of the local First Nations communities.
