Plaza Hotel is seeking a confident, commercially astute and service-driven General Manager to lead operations across our bar and bistro, premium nightclub, basement cocktail bar, heritage-listed theatre space and gaming room. This is a rare opportunity to lead an ambitious, high-profile venue with a bold vision and diverse audience. About the Role Reporting directly to the Director, you will have full accountability for the venues day-to-day operations, financial performance, guest experience and team leadership. Youll be responsible for overseeing department heads, driving operational standards, leading venue culture, and ensuring the seamless delivery of events and service across all levels. Youll work closely with marketing, events, entertainment, and floor teams to deliver an elevated, high-energy hospitality experience - day and night. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of operational strategy and work closely with the Director to shape and drive the venues overall direction Lead all areas of venue operations, compliance, and service standards Oversee financial performance, cost control, wage forecasting and P&L reporting Build and mentor a high-performing team, drive culture and performance Identify and drive new revenue opportunities across events, functions, partnerships, and local community engagement Support marketing campaigns, brand strategy and local area initiatives Ensure smooth execution of events and bookings, including floor plans and staffing Maintain high standards of venue presentation, lighting, music, and ambience Champion customer experience and respond to real-time service needs Liaise with promoters, artists, agencies and high-profile guests About You 5 years in a senior venue leadership role Experience in multi-space or high-volume venues (bars, events, nightclubs, entertainment, gaming) Strong commercial acumen with budgeting and financial reporting skills Outstanding leadership and communication skills Able to thrive in a fast-paced, late-night environment Proactive, hands-on and highly adaptable Working knowledge of NSW Liquor & Gaming compliance, RSA and WHS Experience liaising with creatives, promoters, and high-end clientele a plus Extensive experience in gaming operations & customer engagement Holds their licence or is willing to obtain one Well-connected within the hospitality industry, with strong local networks Why Join Plaza Hotel?
