About the role The Head of Learning Analytics will oversee the strategic development, integration, and continuous improvement of the Colleges academic data and reporting systems. The role is central to supporting curriculum planning, improving student outcomes, and driving evidence-based practice in classrooms. You will work in close partnership with Campus Principals, Teaching and Learning Coordinators, Heads of Department, and other key stakeholders to ensure that data systems are user-focused, reliable, and aligned with the schools educational goals. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and refinement of learning analytics and academic data systems that support strategic and instructional decision-making Oversee internal platforms and systems used to manage curriculum resources, subject planners, academic programs, and teaching allotments Analyse student performance data (NAPLAN, PAT, VCE, attendance) to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for intervention Ensure timely and accurate delivery of academic reporting, including semester reports, VCE results, surveys, and assessment schedules Support the development of processes and protocols for curriculum documentation, assessment planning, and subject selection Manage the integration of multiple data sources to produce a coherent, high-quality picture of student learning and curriculum implementation Deliver professional learning that builds staff capacity in data literacy and evidence-informed teaching Uphold rigorous standards in data governance, quality assurance, and compliance with privacy and policy requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience Experience in education or curriculum-focused roles (preferred) Proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, Tableau, Power BI, and Google Sheets Strong analytical and statistical skills Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders A collaborative attitude with the ability to work both independently and within a team Commitment to confidentiality and the ability to manage sensitive data Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is highly desirable Current CPR and First Aid qualifications, including Anaphylaxis training, or be willing to obtain them Job Applications close: Friday, 11 July 2025* *Early applications are appreciated to assist the interview process.
