Our client is seeking a skilled Jewellery Buyer to join their dynamic and fast-paced retail business. With a strong focus on sourcing, product development and supplier negotiation, you''ll play a key role in curating a compelling and commercially viable jewellery range that resonates with their customers. Reporting to the Head of Merchandising, you''ll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing jewellery, across precious metals, gemstones, and finished pieces for both retail and special-order purposes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-led, trend-conscious, and customer-focused environment. You will also work closely with planning, marketing, and store teams. Responsibilities Source and develop jewellery ranges aligned with customer demand and market trends Negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure optimal pricing, availability and trading terms Manage budgets, inventory levels, and product lifecycle including exit strategies for slow-moving stock Coordinate with retail teams on stock levels, customer feedback, and in-store visual merchandising needs Attend trade shows and supplier meetings to identify new trends and business opportunities Oversee promotional activity setup and marketing proofing Review and process faulty or damaged stock returns Prepare reports related to supplier performance, product analysis and inventory metrics You Minimum 5 years'' experience in a buying, purchasing, or procurement role (retail, fashion, or luxury goods) Strong negotiation and supplier management experience (domestic and international) Experience in inventory and stock level management High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities Excellent communication and project management skills Australian driver''s licence Experience in the jewellery industry (wholesale, retail, or manufacturing) Formal qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Gemmology, or related fields Certificate III in Procurement or similar For a confidential discussion regarding this role or to explore other career opportunities, please contact: Tarnya Mangano | Partner Ref No: 28361 Email: tarnya.mangano@empiregroup.com.au Phone: 0410 668 577 Tarnya Mangano, Partner - Support Recruiter at Empire Group.
