Job Overview Thrive Early Learning Centres is seeking a dynamic and responsible truck driver to safely operate our state-of-the-art Educational Experience truck. This innovative vehicle is a key part of our learning experience, used to bring interactive educational content to our children. The driver will be responsible for safely transporting the truck to various locations, ensuring it is well-maintained, and assisting with setting up the truck for educational activities. This educational experience truck is part of our mission to offer unique, hands-on learning experiences. By joining our team, youll play an important role in bringing this vision to life. Work Environment: Location: Various locations as scheduled. NSW majority of time. Victoria 3 visits p/a. Physical Demands: The role may involve lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to handle the physical demands of setting up and maintaining equipment. Work Schedule: Hours will vary based on event needs, including possible evening and weekend work. Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, as needed for events. Truck Type: Mack Anthem This is a part time position and would suit someone looking for work life balance. Key Responsibilities: Transportation: Safely drive and operate the truck to scheduled destinations, ensuring timely arrivals at various locations for events or educational sessions. Educational Setup: Assist in the setup and breakdown of internal displays, ensuring that all technical systems are functioning properly. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular checks and maintenance on the truck to ensure it is in good condition. Report any issues immediately to the Operations Manager. Safety Compliance: Ensure the truck is operated in accordance with all road safety regulations, and ensure the safety of passengers and staff. Conducting pre-starts and reporting any maintenance issues. Familiarity with log books, knowledge of chain of Responsibility and fatigue management. Customer Interaction: Be a positive and engaging presence at each location, interacting with staff, children, and visitors to ensure the success of the educational events. Documentation: Maintain logs of travel, events, and maintenance. Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed on time and accurately. Collaboration: Work closely with Thrive Early Learning Centre staff, ensuring smooth transitions between locations and a seamless experience for all participants. Maintaining the cleanliness of your truck is essential for upholding a professional company image. As you drive, you represent our company, and a clean vehicle reflects positively on our brand. Required Skills and Qualifications: Valid Driver Licence: Must have a valid driver licence, with a good driving record & minimum of HC licence. Recent RMS Driving Record. Experience: Experience driving large vehicles or trucks. Must obtain a WWCC (Working with Children Check). Must obtain a Police check. Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding interactive technology (training will be provided). Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, especially for large vehicles. Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift and carry equipment for setup and breakdown. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage positively with children and adults. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues and find solutions to unexpected challenges. Preferred Skills Familiarity with advanced vehicle technology and systems Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting The successful candidate must possess exceptional spatial awareness and maneuvering skills, as demonstrated by the ability to consistently and safely reverse a large vehicle into tight driveways and loading docks.
