Reporting to the MD, as GM and a member of the Group Executive Leadership team, your role is to drive growth and build this medium-sized businesstaking it to the next level by leading, developing, and managing your team to meet company objectives, sales revenue, and profit margins. You will lead from the front, involved in all aspects of sales, marketing, operations, and strategic initiatives, working closely with your team and profit centers. Responsibilities include managing key customer relationships, manufacturing, operations (lean principles), tenders, contracts, project management, process improvements, safety, finance, and fostering a culture of responsibility, accountability, and development. The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified with proven profit center or general management experience in building on medium to large manufacturing, construction, and sales operations ($60M), with experience in end-to-end management of commercial projects and installations involving made-to-order or customized engineered products/systems in the building and construction sector. Experience with external building systems (metal, glass, wood, concrete) is highly regarded. You will have demonstrated skills in leading, motivating, influencing, and managing medium to large teams (including construction project management teams), building or leveraging new business opportunities, fostering a process improvement culture, being entrepreneurial, analytical, strategic, commercially savvy, and involved in new product design and sourcing. Strong organizational skills, construction project management expertise, computer literacy (Excel, ERP systems), and a passion for driving business growth are essential.
