About the Role Our Sustainability & Climate Consulting team in Sydney is rapidly expanding, and we are looking for a new Manager to help us to deliver high quality, impactful work for our clients across a number of sectors. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team the role will focus on three primary areas: Managing and delivering high-quality, client-focused projects related to sustainability and climate. Playing a key role helping to further grow and develop our practice by contributing to proposals and business development, as well as developing and enhancing our core methodologies and market facing collateral. Training, coaching, upskilling and managing team members to meet our clients needs and exceed their expectations. This role sits within BDO Sydneys Strategy & Transformation Consulting practice. Duties and responsibilities: Help our clients to improve their environmental and social impact by developing innovative and creative sustainability strategies across the value chain. Help our clients to address the risks and opportunities associated with climate change, including undertaking climate-related risk and opportunity assessments and climate scenario analyses. Critically analyse and interpret our clients exposure and resilience to climate change. This includes developing climate transition plans and integrating climate initiatives into broader sustainability strategy. Provide support to clients in preparing for upcoming mandatory climate-related disclosures (ASRS/AASB). Help clients develop sustainability commitments and targets and embed these into their business. Advise and guide clients on a range of other sustainability issues including climate, nature, decarbonisation, modern slavery, procurement, DEI, community engagement, circularity, waste management, purpose and governance, risk management and fair work. Help clients to understand and align with a range of sustainability frameworks and guidelines, including ASRS/AASB, GRI, TNFD, SBTi, and B Corp. Contribute to winning work by understanding clients needs and developing proposals. Contribute to the development of market-leading sustainability tools and methodologies. Lead and train junior team members. About you Our ideal candidate comes from a Consulting or professional services background working with various organisations to support their sustainability and climate-related requirements. This role requires an agile individual with a growth-mindset. Combined with: Strong knowledge and understanding of sustainability issues, themes and trends, and how these apply to business. Critical and strategic thinking skills, with attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality results. Experience delivering climate-related risk assessments and climate scenario analysis. Understanding of ASRS/AASB and how to practically help clients to meet the requirements. Strong research, analytical and writing skills, including ability to develop and present high-impact documents to clients. You will also ideally have: Prior experience developing sustainability strategies, ideally covering a range of issues including nature, decarbonisation, modern slavery etc. Climate analytics skills, including ability to analyse and model emissions reduction activities. Demonstrable experience collaborating with senior stakeholders across a broad range of clients and industries. Experience developing proposals, winning work and nurturing client relationships. Project management and engagement management experience, including managing the delivery of multiple client engagements at the same time, including budget and resource management. Why BDO?
