About You : Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent Current Drivers Licence and own transport Working with Children Check National Police Check NDIS worker clearance CPR and First Aid Certificate Position Summary : You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to children from the ages of 2 - 18 years of age, addressing their unique needs and promoting their physical, cognitive, social and emotional well-being. Our clinical team provides a multi-disciplinary service to help children to improve functional abilities, to achieve meaningful participation in their everyday settings, and to enhance their quality of life. The service supports families in identifying and building on a childs strengths, interests and capabilities while delivering excellence in care. Need to communicate highly sensitive, complex information, whilst maintaining patient confidentiality. Use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication methods to progress treatment programs. Quality of service delivery Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate a clients physical, cognitive, social and emotional abilities against an appropriate developmental expectation. Collaborate with clients and their care givers to set goals and targets to be achieved. Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on the assessment findings, incorporating therapeutic exercises and other appropriate interventions to assist clients to achieve their goals. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams involved with the client such as physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, medical professionals, teachers and caregivers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care. Provide ongoing monitoring and re-assessment of clients'' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Educate and train parents, caregivers and other healthcare professionals on appropriate techniques and strategies to promote carry-over of therapy goals into the childs daily life. Pay meticulous attention to detail in writing reports. Ensure clients are suitably supported with necessary reports, letters and correspondence. Compliance Insurance (professional indemnity) AHPRA registration Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client assessments, goals, treatment notes in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements in client management software. Complete handover or discharge summary when client changes therapist or service. Comply with regular audits and reviews to assess compliance with documentation, safety and infection control protocols. Adhere to safety procedures. Identify risks, report and document in line with policies and procedures. Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care. Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment. Work within local and national guidelines and protocols. Professional development Stay informed regarding the latest research, evidence-based practices and advancements in occupational therapy, applying this knowledge appropriately. Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Share ideas and improvements for the business with senior therapists and management. Seek feedback and guidance through learning from more experienced therapists, to ensure industry best practice is maintained. Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, such as other allied health professionals, medical professionals, and educators. Productivity Achieve 80% billable hours/week. Ensure all client-related activities are billed. Ensure all clients have ongoing or review appointments booked. Manage workload, communications, appointments and deadlines. Physical environment Clean all equipment before and after every client session. Report any breakages to senior therapists or management. Ensure rooms are kept tidy and presentable at all times.
