A Staff Specialist (0.5 FTE) is required for a temporary position in the Department. The Endocrinologist will attend Bone and Calcium, Transplant Endocrine, Osteoporosis Refracture, and Endocrine Oncology clinics, attend to inpatients, participate in Morbidity and Mortality Meetings, educational departmental meetings, and provide on call services as mandated by the Head of Department. Selection Criteria: Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists State Award; Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Endocrinology (with dedicated experience in osteoporosis and bone and calcium disorders and preferably endocrine disorders following transplantation and the endocrine complications of cancer therapies) commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position; Completed, or working towards completing, a PhD, preferably in, the bone and calcium field; Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels; Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience; Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment with a track record in clinical or health service research and publication relevant to endocrine medicine practice; and, Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincents Health Australia.
