In this dynamic position, you''ll oversee the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and systems to safeguard the well-being of employees, contractors, visitors, and the general public. The Head of Safety will collaborate with the leadership team, other departments and Market representatives to foster a safety-conscious culture and ensure SML adheres to all relevant safety standards. With an in-depth knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and best practice, you will spearhead the transformation of a collaborative safety culture across the markets and beyond.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement safety programmes and strategy.Spearhead our safety culture.Manage compliance and regulatory oversight.Conduct safety audits and inspections and implement corrective and pre-emptive action plans.Create and run training and awareness both internally and across multiple stakeholders.Manage our Emergency Response Plan, including all incident management and reporting.Manage and implement best practice Return-to Work policies and procedures.Liaise as a senior member of the team and collaborate on safety strategies across departments.Manage and develop members of our Safety team.Skills & ExperienceRequiredQualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Best practice execution and experience in leading Safety in a fast-paced environment with transport/logistics and forklifts a must.Strong knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety legislation, reporting requirements, industry standards and best practice in the safety space, with the ability to articulate requirements for different audiences.Proven experience in developing and implementing safety policies and programs.Demonstrated experience on successful transformation of safety culture in a multi-stakeholder and multi-site environment.Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to influence stakeholders to drive organisational and behavioural change.Accountable, organised and manages multiple timelines and deliverables.Ready to Join Us?If you are a safety professional who has a passion for making a difference, we want to hear from you.Apply now with your resume, and a cover letter clearly outlining your relevant experience to match the job requirements.How do your skills match this job?How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
