We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.The roleThis role provides essential administrative support to the Waste Operations team and delivers high quality customer service to residents within the Canterbury Bankstown Local Government area.Duties will include but not be limited to:Manage non-compliance with garbage, recycling, and garden waste services on a daily basisInvestigate and resolve issues related to new services, vacant land charges, and medical wasteConduct site visits across Council areas to assess and address waste-related concernsHandle complaints regarding unsatisfactory service delivery, escalating when necessaryCollaborate with contractors to resolve customer requests and driver feedbackRefer and track customer requests to the appropriate officers for timely actionDevelop and maintain waste management systems, procedures, and documentationUpdate and manage databases, including rates, second services, collection schedules, and strata contactsMonitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreementsRespond promptly to issues raised through the waste call centrePrepare reports and analyse data on Waste and Cleansing activities and performanceCommunicate effectively with residents, stakeholders, and internal teamsStay informed on industry legislation, programs, and best practices; share insights with the teamCoordinate with Rangers and Environmental teams to ensure dumped rubbish is handled appropriatelySupport trade waste services, including database management, invoicing, and contract oversightVerify contractor invoices for accuracy and process for approvalEvaluate service improvement ideas and collaborate with stakeholders to implement changesTrack progress toward Waste and Cleansing unit goals and objectives*For a full list of duties, click here to review the position description.You will have:Class C drivers LicenseExcellent customer service and problem resolution skillsAbility to be adaptable and flexible to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet customer needsDemonstrated experience in effective time management and the ability to meet multiple deadlinesDemonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and other software applicationsThe salary range for this opportunity starts at $69,728 (Grade D, Step 1) + 11.5% super.
