We strive to promote Townsville North Queensland as a desirable place to visit, invest and live.About the OpportunityJoin our passionate team and work closely with the CEO and Executive Directors. In this role, you will be responsible for Townsville Enterprises Corporate Communications.Key responsibilities include:Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with company goals including crisis management plans and advocacy communications.Create communications materials such as media alerts, media releases, and statementsPitch stories and schedule media announcementsSupport media announcements and coordinate with stakeholdersFurther develop the Unlock the North advocacy platformMaintain a watching brief and act on hot topics for the regionEssential to your success is:Bachelors degree in PR, marketing, journalism, or related fieldStrong communication skills including interpersonal, written, and verbal.An ability to build trusted relationships with media outlets both locally and nationallyFamiliarity with traditional and new mediaAn understanding of the media and public relations industries including processes, deadline and networkingKnowledge of project management and planning.Excellent time management and attention to detailValid drivers license and willingness to travelWhy Join Us?Career growth in a role where you make a real difference!Competitive salary ($70,000 $80,000 + super)Flexibility with a fortnightly RDOFriendly, passionate and dynamic team environmentProfessional workspace in the CBDEducation assistance, ongoing learning and development and team gatheringsNetworking opportunities with senior political leadersWellness initiatives and dedicated supportIf you are eager to contribute your experience and grow in this role, we invite you to apply.
