Coordinator Open Space, Recreational and Building AssetsJoin to apply for the Coordinator Open Space, Recreational and Building Assets role at Careers at CouncilCoordinator Open Space, Recreational and Building Assets16 hours ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Coordinator Open Space, Recreational and Building Assets role at Careers at CouncilDescriptionSalary $123,337.24 to $143,070.72 p/a + superPermanent full time position 35 hours per weekAccess to private use of a vehicle through Councils Private Leaseback SchemePymble, New South WalesFull-timeDescriptionCoordinator Open Space, Recreational and Building AssetsSalary $123,337.24 to $143,070.72 p/a + superPermanent full time position 35 hours per weekAccess to private use of a vehicle through Councils Private Leaseback SchemeAbout Ku-ring-gai CouncilLocated 16 kms north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales most attractive natural environments.About The RoleCouncil is seeking a proactive, experienced, and technically capable individual to take on the pivotal role of Coordinator Open Space, Recreational and Building Assets.As the Coordinator, you will provide strategic and operational leadership in the management, planning, maintenance and improvement of Councils diverse portfolio of open space, recreational and building assets.You will lead a multidisciplinary team, deliver capital works programs, manage asset condition reporting and financial forecasting, and oversee asset-related systems, policies and practices in alignment with Councils goals and legislative requirements.Your Duties Will Include, But Are Not Limited ToDevelop, implement, and review Asset Management Plans for open space, recreational and building assetsProvide expert advice on strategic delivery of Council priorities related to assetsEnsure effective management of key recreational facilities including Ku-ring-gai Fitness & Aquatic Centre and golf coursesOversee leases, licences and service levels associated with Council-owned assets to ensure favourable commercial and community outcomesMaintain asset management systems, ensuring accurate data collection, condition assessments, compliance and financial reportingConduct strategic and financial modelling to support capital works planningLead, develop, and mentor a professional asset management teamDevelop and implement policies, inspection programs and improvement plans to ensure sustainable long-term asset performanceLiaise with stakeholders including Council teams, State authorities, adjoining councils, and the communityEnsure compliance with relevant legislative frameworks including the Local Government Act and NSW Roads ActQualifications, Skills & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Facility Management or a related fieldExtensive experience managing open space, recreational and building infrastructureProven background in asset condition assessments, financial reporting and capital works program developmentDemonstrated leadership in team management, policy development, strategic planning and contractor/consultant supervisionHigh-level technical, financial and strategic asset management skillsAbility to prioritise, multi-task and deliver projects within time and budget constraintsStrong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholdersExpertise in Microsoft Office, asset management systems and GIS integrationStrong problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution capabilitiesIn-depth knowledge of asset-related legislative requirementsBenefits35 hour working weekWork from Home (WFH) options / Flexible Working Arrangements in line with Councils Policy and subject to approvalAccess to private use of a vehicle through Councils Private Leaseback SchemeAccess to Fitness PassportHealth & Fitness $100 yearly reimbursement (conditional)Free confidential Employee Assistance ProgramBeautiful Ku-ring-gai LocationSupportive team environmentAccess to a wide range of development and training opportunitiesFor more information on the benefits offered at Ku-ring-gai Council, please refer to our website click here.How To ApplyApplicants are required to address all Essential Criteria as listed within the Position Description to be eligible for an interview.Like to know more?
