Your vision and leadership as Director, Conference Services and Catering will ensure an engaged team, efficient operations and offerings that exceed the expectations of every client.Summary of Responsibilities:Reporting to theDirector ofSales & Marketing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceDirect and manage all activity related to the Catering office, ensuring all service standards are followedResponsible for all catering, from booking to execution and conference services from the time a contract becomes definite to executionPrepare an annual budget for approval and administer that budget in a fiscally responsible mannerEstablish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during and post conference, exceeding their expectations and encouraging repeat businessConduct site inspections as requiredDevelop annual business plans for the department in conjunction with the Director of Sales & MarketingEnsure that function bookings, group resumes,event contracts and banquet event orders are prepared and distributed accurately and efficientlyEnsure meeting and function rooms are properly maintained at all times liaising with food and beverage outlets regarding reservations and flow of clientsWork closely with the Director of Food & Beverageto prepare monthly forecastsBalance operational, administrative and Colleague needsFollow departmental policies and proceduresDrives function space optimization/maximization to ensure the best utilization of space for guest experience and financial performanceLead a team of Conference Service ManagersOnboard new team membersLead training and recruitment effortsFollow all safety policiesOther duties as assignedQualificationsPrevious leadership experience within a similar role requiredComputer literate in Microsoft Window applications and relevant computer applications requiredUniversity/College degree in a related discipline requiredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal requiredStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesProactive, detail oriented, and able to work collaboratively across teams to drive results and deliver memorable experiencesAdditional InformationJob Perks & Benefits:Subsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time status employeesOne complimentary meal per shift in our staff cafeteria (additional meals can be purchased for $5/meal)Comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Vision & Dental) including extended benefits like; Mental Health (up to $5,000/year), Orthodontics (up to $2,500/year), Fertility Drugs and Gender Affirmation (Lifetime maximum of $10,000) for full time permanent status employeesDefined Contribution Pension Plan with employer matching up to 5% of annual earnings for full time permanent status employeesEmployee travel program with discounts on room rates as well as on food & beverage at Fairmont & Accor properties world-wideAccess to the Mountain Explorer Travel Program - Discounted room rates including 50% off all food & beverage at Fairmont Resorts in Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper & Whistler (subject to availability)Opportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and over 5,000 properties with AccorVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
