Indigo Program (Tranche 2) The Indigo Program is a large-scale transformation program to modernise business capabilities and replace core election ICT systems with a citizen-centric, agile technology platform. The Program will transform the AECs delivery of electoral services and ensure ongoing integrity of the electoral system. Tranche 2 comprises a variety of work packages with a focus on business process re-engineering, data management, legislative compliance and replacing aging systems.The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in the successful transition from legacy data solutions to our new cloud-based platforms. The position will provide critical analytical support across various data-focused streams, primarily Data modelling and Data Migration, but also extending to others as needed.The responsibilities will encompass a range of activities, including in-depth Source to Target Mapping analysis, comprehensive Data profiling to understand data characteristics and quality, the definition and documentation of business and data Quality Rules, and importantly, the analysis of existing logic within legacy source systems to inform the migration process and data model design. This role will be instrumental in ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and fit for purpose in the target cloud environment.The candidate must hold an active Baseline security clearance prior to commencement.Key duties may include, but are not limited to:Conducting in-depth analysis of legacy data sources to understand data structures, quality, relationships, and anomalies, directly informing migration strategies and data transformation rules.Developing and maintaining detailed source to target data mapping and document the business logic and transformation required to migrate data accurately to the new data platforms.Performing comprehensive data profiling on both legacy and target data sources to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps, and contribute to the definition of data cleansing and validation rules.Analysing existing business rules and data processing logic within legacy sources to understand their impact on data and translate them into requirements for the new target data sources.Collaborating with data modellers by providing insights derived from source data analysis, helping to define logical and physical data models that align with business needs and the characteristic of the migrated data.Analysing data related issues encountered during migration or data modelling, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions. Presenting and reporting on data to internal and external stakeholders.Provide consulting and analytical services to support executive decision making.Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.Essential Criteria5+ years of hands-on experience with data analysis at an enterprise level; 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL, SQL Tools and Power BIExpert knowledge of data management and related toolsAbility to understand a nd manage stakeholder expectations todeliver data-driven solutions.Excellent problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
