With two main acute facilities based at Leongatha and Korumburra, GSHS offers a broad range of specialist, general, acute, subacute, ambulatory, residential aged care and community services.About the RoleWe are currently seeking two (2) suitably qualified Hospital Medical Officers (HMO''s) Year 3 to provide safe, high quality patient care at our Leongatha Hospital working across the General (Acute) ward and Urgent Care Centre (UCC).It''s an exciting time to join the team at Leongatha. With a new medical model now embedded for over 12 months these newly created roles are intended to further build on our health services ability to provide timely and high-quality patient care.The roles are offered on a 12-month fixed term basis. Working a day shift only roster, 4 days on 4 days off, Monday to Sunday.As a HMO you will be responsible for:Clinical and patient care duties on the General Ward under the supervision of senior medical staffClinical care to patients who present to the UCC under the supervision of senior medical staffSafely prescribing medicationsThe formulation of individual management plans for patients, including actively participating in multidisciplinary teams to support thisAssisting with discharge planning, including ensuring referrals and follow ups are arrangedAbout YouThe successful applicant should possess the following:MBBS or equivalentCurrent registration with APHRA (Australian Health Practitioner Agency) as a Medical PractitionerRecency of practice in AustraliaCurrent Police Check and Working with Children CheckExcellent communication skills including the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrate initiative and contribute to a positive team culture in a sub-regional hospital in a rural environmentStaff have access to supportive staff mentoring, education and development programs. Salary Packaging is available for all staff.
