Our commitment and dedication to the Great Barrier Reef and the Australian public have a long-lasting impact, and we are looking for individuals who can bring their unique skills, experience, and knowledge to our high-performing and inclusive organisation.The PositionWe are seeking a project manager to join our small team in the compliance program, which is part of the Australian and Queensland governments Reef Joint Field Management Program. This position manages compliance projects and initiatives to improve compliance effectiveness and encourage voluntary compliance with legislation to preserve the values of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage Area. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders is key to success in the role.The Manager, Compliance Projects will lead the development, management, and implementation of initiatives within the compliance program, driving innovation through strategic compliance strategies and effective stakeholder collaboration. The role will focus on delivering business improvements, ensuring effective governance, and applying strategic and operational expertise to drive results. The ideal candidate will possess engagement skills, a deep understanding of business analysis, and a proven track record in project and program management.About YouYou are a lateral thinker who navigates complex situations and can deliver clear, data-driven recommendations to senior management.You possess negotiation and stakeholder management skills and you can communicate with influence.You can prepare clear, concise, and compelling reports and presentations that convey complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels.You have expertise in data analysis, business insight, and reporting, with the ability to synthesise complex information.You have experience in designing and implementing governance and operational frameworks within a marine operating context.You are experienced in strategic planning and managing business cases.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop governance and operational frameworks that support the strategic and operational objectives of the compliance program.Prepare comprehensive business cases and ad-hoc reports, using data analysis to inform decision-making and provide business insights, ensuring clarity and accuracy.Contribute to the planning, development, and oversight of the compliance programs initiatives and projects, ensuring they align with organisational goals.Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders in relation to compliance projects and other activities and represent the Field Management Program as required.Identify continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on people, processes and technology to enhance compliance delivery.Provide advice and support the implementation of key initiatives, activities, and priority projects within the Program, or take responsibility for specific components of these projects as needed.For more information about this opportunity, please contactKate Hatten, Assistant Director Compliance Planning, Ph. 0429 682 980 or kate.hatten@gbrmpa.gov.au or kate.hatten@gbrmpa.gov.auEligibilityThe successful candidate will have evidence of an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.To be eligible for employment, candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.The position requires a Baseline security clearance.
