This includes overseeing production operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, managing a team of professionals, and collaborating with other departments to achieve production targets.Job responsibilities:Plant start-up, shut down, and efficient plant operation with emergency handling.Managing troubleshooting and breakdown/trip analysis in the Urea Plant.Interaction with various maintenance departments and knowledge of instrumentation systems & DCS.Developing shift operating staff and new trainees through structured training programs on plant operation, emergencies, EHS topics, etc.Adhering to HSE norms, achieving production and energy norms, maintaining plant assets, and suggesting modifications if required.Supervising and coordinating urea production processes to ensure optimal efficiency and output.Monitoring production schedules, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing capacity improvement strategies.Implementing quality control measures and collaborating with QA teams for inspections and tests.Leading and managing a team of production and technical staff.Ensuring safety and environmental compliance in all production aspects.Implementing safety programs and creating a safe working environment.Identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.Introducing innovative technologies to enhance efficiency.Collaborating with supply chain and logistics for raw material and distribution management.Developing and managing budgets for production, ensuring cost-effectiveness.Preparing reports on production metrics and KPIs.Requirements:Bachelors degree in chemical engineering.Minimum 18 to 24 years of relevant experience in chemical engineering roles, preferably in urea manufacturing or similar industries.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety, and environmental regulations.Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.About Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers:Based in Western Australia, Perdaman is developing Project Ceres, Australias largest urea plant, with a USD $4.5 billion investment and a capacity of 2.3 million metric tons annually. Located in Karratha, the plant will utilize feedstock from Woodside under a 20-year supply agreement and has a 20-year offtake agreement with Incitec Pivot. Urea is a vital, non-toxic fertiliser supporting global agriculture.
