We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.About the RoleProvide personalised in-home care support to older Australians living in cairns, assisting them to continue living independently in their own home.We have Casual and Permanent Part Time positions available with hours between 7am to 7pm, no sleepover shifts and occasional weekend shifts. This opportunity would suit someone looking for flexible and additional hours that can be tailored to suit school hours or other commitments.Key ResponsibilitiesDomestic assistance duties. This consists of light cleaning duties, changing of bed linen, washing/laundryIn-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily livingSocial supports inclusive of support to attend medical appointments, social activities in the local community, building/maintaining social networksPersonal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and well-being (for example, identification of wound care needs, skin integrity, etc)Skills & ExperiencePassionate about making a positive impact in our ageing communityAn Australian Drivers Licence and ownership of a reliable registered vehicleStrong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationshipsA current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and complete an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.Work independently whilst supported by a dedicated leadership teamSimple and easy to use technology to record your timesheets and kilometresFrameworks and policies in place providing you with clear guidelines and supportCasual hourly rate from $39.55 per + Super +.99 cents per kilometre while you workPart Time hourly rate from $31.64 + Super+.99 cents per kilometre while you workHow to ApplyInclude your resume and covering letter in one document, click Apply and follow the prompts.
