Our goal is to be the best place to work, learn and contribute, and to provide exceptional experiences for our patients and consumers.About The DepartmentThe Perioperative Service at the Womens is a comprehensive, dedicated department incorporating all aspects involved in surgical intervention for patients, including the Operating Theatre and the Day Surgery Unit. The Operating Suite provides surgical services 24 hours per day, seven days a week and consists of Six operating theatres, one procedure room, and a ten bay PACU. Surgical specialties include Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Breast, and Oncology.About The RoleAs an Grade 1 Grade 4 Theatre Technician you will be responsible for providing technical care to women and their families within a multidisciplinary team environment, working collegially with other health professionals, and under the leadership of a Grade 5 Theatre Technician.In addition, you will provide patient focused care for women and babies. The care provided is evidence based and directed to improving the surgical outcomes for women and their families. Educational support can also be provide for motivated applicants.A Regular Day Will See YouProvide direct patient care to women accessing Perioperative ServicesKeep abreast current knowledge regarding technical equipment and positioning the patient for surgeryAssess patient needs and ensure that all equipment and instrumentation is correctly functioning and mandatory checks have been performedPlan for, implement, and evaluate care for a patient following assessment of patient needs and in collaboration with the anaesthetist, surgeon and nursing colleaguesPromote a supportive learning environment for all clinicians working in the operating suiteAbout YouYou will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.
