As independent supermarket and grocery store owner, all the products offered are always individually tailored to reflect store''s local community needs. There are a wide range of food products from a broad range of categories.Futuristic Optics is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to join its team. The position plays a crucial role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and budgetary allocations.The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for managing and processing financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and expenditure tracking for both supermarket locations.The role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to analyze financial data, and a proactive approach to cost management. The successful candidate will work closely with the management team to ensure that financial operations align with the business goals and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities: o Accounts Payable & Receivable Process supplier invoices and reconcile statements. Follow up on outstanding payments and credits. Record and allocate customer payments and supplier disbursements. Manage petty cash and ensure accurate recording of store expenses. o Bank & Cash Reconciliation Reconcile daily cash takings from both stores against POS reports and banking. Reconcile EFTPOS and online payment systems with bank statements. Prepare and maintain bank reconciliation reports. o Payroll Support Collate employee timesheets and assist in processing payroll. Ensure compliance with award rates and store rosters. Maintain accurate employee records including leave and superannuation data. o Inventory & Stock Accounting Assist in tracking inventory values and stock movement adjustments. Liaise with store managers for periodic stocktakes and reconcile variances. Help ensure that stock purchases are properly recorded in the accounting system. o Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare weekly and monthly financial summaries for management review. Assist in preparation of BAS, GST, and other ATO lodgements. Maintain compliance with accounting standards & retail regulatory requirements. o Administrative & Systems Support Update supplier and customer records in accounting software. Maintain orderly records of invoices, statements, and receipts for audit purposes. Qualifications and Experience: o A Certificate II, AQF Certificate III, or at least one year of relevant experience o Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks. o Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes, reconciliations, and cost tracking. o Experience in preparing financial reports and budgeting. o Understanding of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements in Australia.Skills Required: o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. o Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. o Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. o High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software. o Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple financial tasks efficiently.If you are an experienced Accounts Clerk looking for a stable and rewarding role in a reputable hospitality business, we encourage you to apply.Please send your resume to recruitment@targetbusiness.com ,au.
